Manatee/ Dugong (Dugong dugon)
The Dugong can reach up to four, but usually three meters in length and weigh anywhere from 230 to 900, but usually around 400 kg. The front flippers, which are 35 to 45 cm long, are used for propulsion by young Dugongs, whereas adult Dugongs primarily use these flippers for steering while relying on the tail fluke for propulsion. Dugongs can move at approximately 10 km/h, with double the speed in times of urgency. Dugongs are purely herbivorous, feeding on seagrass. They are believed to live for over 60 years.
