Open Water

Scuba diving course for beginners

An open water diving course is a fundamental introductory course for recreational diving. This is the first step to become a certified diver and dive in open waters. During the course, you will learn the basic skills and knowledge required to safely and competently operate underwater.

The open water diving course usually includes a combination of theoretical instruction, pool exercises, and open water dives. In the theoretical part, you will be introduced to the basics of diving, including dive physics, equipment, underwater communication, and dive planning.

The pool exercises are designed to teach you the practical skills required underwater. These include putting on and handling diving equipment, breathing underwater, clearing and defogging the diving mask, finding the regulator, and learning emergency procedures.

After mastering the theoretical foundations and pool exercises, you will be taken to open water dives. Here, you can apply what you have learned in a natural environment. Under the guidance of a certified diving instructor, you will complete several dives to improve and apply your skills.

At the end of the course, you will take a theoretical test and demonstrate your skills in the water. If you meet all the requirements, you will receive an internationally recognized open water diving certification that allows you to conduct independent dives up to a certain depth.
